FAQ’s Smartlipo Triplex
What are the advantages of Smartlipo Triplex over conventional liposuction procedures?
First, both treatments remove fat, but unlike Smartlipo TriPlex, conventional liposuction can leave behind loose skin. Second, because local anesthetic is typically used with Smartlipo treatments (instead of general anesthesia), you’re awake during the procedure—that’s a real plus, leading to a faster, easier recovery. Smartlipo TriPlex can also create a high definition, sculpted look by defining waistlines in women and abdominal muscles in men (six pack).
How does Smartlipo Triplex work?
This laser-assisted lipolysis procedure is performed using a small cannula (or tube) about the size of the tip of a pen, which is inserted under the skin. The laser delivers energy directly to the fat cells through the cannula, causing them to rupture. The liquefied fat is then gently suctioned out. New collagen is produced, resulting in tissue tightening. The three laser wavelengths contained in Smartlipo TriPlex allow your physician to customize treatments based on the nature of your concerns.
How long does the SmartLipo Triplex procedure take?
The SmartLipo Triplex procedure generally takes between 1 and 2 hours, depending on the treatment area.
Will the results be immediate?
Patients start to see improvements within a few weeks. Skin will return to normal after a couple of months and the full benefit of the procedure is usually achieved in up to 4 months.
How many treatments are required?
A single treatment is all that is required for most patients.
Does SmartLipo Triplex hurt?
Using the latest technology, the smallest of incisions and only the use of a local anesthetic, bruising and a recovery period are kept to a minimum. Very few patients will need more than an occasional mild painkiller during the recovery period. The recovery for this procedure is usually quick and most patients will be able to return to work and their regular activities within a few days.
Will SmartLipo Triplex cause scarring?
A tiny incision is made in the skin which will result in the smallest of scars. Incision sites heal without stitches.
Will the results of SmartLipo Triplex be long-term?
Yes. Results can continue to appear for up to a year. The treatment area will have reduced fat cells and therefore future weight gain will be greatly reduced in that area.
Does SmartLipo Triplex produce lasting results?
Yes! Adults do not create new fat cells. When a person gains weight, the fat cells expand. SmartLipo TriPlex permanently destroys the fat cells. Should you gain weight, fat will not be deposited in areas that were treated.
Is there a recovery period?
Smartlipo Triplex is a minimally invasive procedure which usually requires only local
anesthesia. Some light bruising can occur, but you’ll be able to return to normal activities within a day or two.
How do I know if Smartlipo Triplex is right for me?
The best candidates for Smartlipo are women and men who are not significantly overweight, but have accumulated fat deposits—such as love handles, flabby upper arms, excess neck or facial fat or fat on the lower torso.
