Welcome to Southern Minnesota Surgical!
In 2009, Dr. William Lee determined that starting a solo surgical practice was going to be a goal. Happily, his mission has been accomplished, Southern Minnesota Surgical officially opened its doors in July, 2010 at 519 S. Galbraith Street, Blue Earth, MN.
Although Dr. Lee was trained in an urban area, receiving his residency in Kalamazoo, Michigan, he believes strongly in providing individualized care to his surgery patients. Dr. William Lee has been practicing general surgery since 2000 and has been performing Lap-Band surgery in Minnesota since 2005.
“I think our practice itself being small – myself, our nurse, the dietitian and the business office team – offers a real personal atmosphere for us to get to know our patients. Weight loss is such a personal situation, and we keep it that way. I want to get to know these people and help them on this journey,” says Dr. Lee. “I think it’s important for me to see them every time, so I can get to know them and they can get to know me.”

Dr. Lee and his team of professionally trained staff are pleased to be offering patients in southern Minnesota an independent surgeon clinic practice location, along with two outreach site locations, conveniently located in Fairmont and St. Peter.
Over the past ten years, Dr. Lee has established superior relationships in southern Minnesota, with his physician peers and his patients and their families. It is Dr. Lee’s sincere wish to continue building and forming those relationships while he independently practices with Southern Minnesota Surgical, Inc.
